About the artist

Chiara Capony (b. 1989) is a Brussels-based painter working primarily in oil. Her practice centres on water — its surface, its depth, and what it carries — as a way of exploring memory, identity, and intergenerational inheritance.

She studied Visual Communication at UP Diliman, Manila, and figure drawing at Studio Escalier, Paris. Her work falls somewhere between hyperrealism and something more interior, where technical precision becomes a way of capturing emotion rather than replication.

She is currently exhibiting we carved our imprints in the current as part of Meeting Point at Kate Contemporary Madrid, May–June 2026.
